How close is "duplicate"?
Hamming distance ≤ 5 of 64 hash bits — catches re-encodes, resizes and crops-that-keep-composition, but not genuinely different shots.
Which copy is kept?
The first of each group in upload order. Files are returned byte-identical, no re-compression.
